This article really pisses me off! I was already pissed off at the egotistical jackass we called the President because we have hardly any National Guard to help out with hurricane relief because they are fighting in some "war game" that Bush has decided to play. Our National Guard is supposed to be available for events like this. Then to see that he cut funding by 44%?!?! What kind of fuckin logic is that? New Orleans is only 6 feet below sea level, it'd never flood? Give this guy a gold star for the brightest president we've had. He makes Ronald Reagan look like Stephen Hawkins! Ok I'll stop, I don't need to go off about the jackass most of you share the same feelings :) I just have to say that the hurricane is one of the saddest things I've seen. All the people that are homeless, dead, dying, it's just total chaos. I don't think the federal government is helping as much as they could. If this happened on the east coast I think aide would have been there sooner. If you look on the news most of the people that are either dead or stranded in the city are mainly poor African-Americans. They couldn't afford to leave the city in time and have no where to go. If they were mainly white it would have been different. Lara made a true but sad statement today, the victims of the tsunami got more sympathy then the people in the hurricane and that's in our own country. If I wasn't in school and didn't have bills to pay I'd really consider going down to there and help out. There's just no way I can do that right now. One thing is for certain New Orleans will never be the same again, but they'll come back it's just going to take a while.
